Thoughts, Emotions, and Observations about the Article
I had mix emotions about this article. At first, I was disappointed because these elephants were killed for the sole purpose of ivory. However, upon completion of the article, it made me glad that efforts are made to stop poaching. Such a large movement will minimize poaching as an activity.
How This Relates to Culture
A movement can be the spread of one idea from one location to another. In this case, the idea to end poaching started at the pyre of ivory at Gabon's capital, and now is spreading to all parts of Gabon. These ideas will meet at a cultural crossroad where the ideas will be further spread outside the boundaries of Gabon to end poaching elsewhere.
